About Trisaetum
Trisaetum is one of Oregon's most distinctive producer-as-artist estates — founded by James Frey, a painter who brings the same aesthetic sensibility to his winemaking that he applies to his canvases. Every Trisaetum wine carries original artwork on its label, but the winery's reputation rests on the quality of what's inside the bottle: some of Oregon's finest Riesling alongside estate Pinot Noir from the Ribbon Ridge and Chehalem Mountains AVAs.
The Rieslings are the Trisaetum signature achievement. James Frey produces multiple Riesling styles — from Coastal (fresh, dry, and aromatic) to Dry (more structured and mineral) to the late-harvest Arts Series — that showcase the variety's extraordinary versatility and the Ribbon Ridge terroir's particular affinity for it. The dry Rieslings, aged in neutral oak, develop complexity over many years in the cellar.
The Pinot Noirs, from estate Ribbon Ridge fruit and purchased Chehalem Mountains grapes, show the linear, precise character typical of wines from these clay-rich, marine-sediment sites. Production is small and the wines are sold primarily through the winery's mailing list and a limited allocation program.
