About Turnbull Wine Cellars

Turnbull Wine Cellars is a Napa Valley winery in Oakville, founded in 1979. Designed by its own founder, architect William Turnbull, known for California's Sea Ranch development, built the winery himself in a deliberately low-key style that blended into the Oakville landscape. A publisher's second act, newspaper publisher Patrick O'Dell bought the estate in 1993, renamed it, and expanded it with additional Oakville and Calistoga vineyard purchases.

Up to 90 fermentations a year, winemaker Peter Heitz keeps each small vineyard block separate through fermentation, sometimes running as many as 90 individual lots in a single harvest.
