About Verdad Wines
Verdad Wine Cellars is Louisa Sawyer Lindquist's pioneering Spanish-varietal label, founded in 2000 with an Albarino from the Ibarra-Young Vineyard that made her the first to release the grape in California. The inspiration came from years around Spanish wine on the East Coast, and the encouragement from her husband, Qupe founder Bob Lindquist.
The portfolio stays true to that vision: Albarino, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and a Grenache rose, largely from Demeter-certified biodynamic, organic and sustainably farmed Central Coast sites, with much of it made at the historic Clendenen-Lindquist Vintners facility at Bien Nacido Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley, ground zero of the family's Santa Barbara County winemaking history.
Tastings are shared with Lindquist Family Wines in the village of Arroyo Grande, an easy stop between Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo wine country, with a relaxed flight format, cheese plates available daily and reservations needed only for parties of five or more.
