Verite Winery

Vérité, French for truth, is one of California's most acclaimed wineries, a Sonoma County estate producing Bordeaux-inspired blends that rival the world's best. It was founded in 1998 as a partnership between the late Jess Jackson of Jackson Family Wines and Pierre Seillan, a sixth-generation vigneron from Gascony whom Jackson recruited to see if he could craft a world-class Bordeaux blend in Sonoma.

Seillan draws fruit from more than fifty distinct micro-crus across four appellations in the Mayacamas foothills, blending them into three flagship wines: La Muse (Merlot-based), La Joie (Cabernet Sauvignon-based) and Le Desir (Cabernet Franc-based). Critics have showered them with praise, including more than seventeen perfect 100-point scores from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

Now a family affair with Seillan's daughter Helene as winemaker, Vérité unveiled a dramatic, abbey-and-chateau-inspired estate near Healdsburg in 2023, where interior spaces evoke each of the three wines. Tastings are private and by appointment, an unforgettable stop for lovers of fine Bordeaux-style wine.
