About Vineyard 29 Estate

Vineyard 29 welcomes guests at its St. Helena estate north of town, where the winery and caves support private luxury tastings. Older material may also reference a downtown CRU tasting room, but the active public page directs reservations to the estate at 2929 St. Helena Highway North. The database should count the estate as the current physical destination unless a separate downtown operation is reconfirmed.

The 30-minute Short Pour is currently $29 and introduces current-release CRU wines. The 90-minute Signature Experience costs $110 and includes a palate-cleansing CRU wine, a brief winery-and-cave tour, current releases from Vineyard 29 and CRU, and an artisanal spread. The $195 Estate Pairing is also 90 minutes and adds three seasonal courses designed to highlight the wines. It often books months ahead.

Estate experiences are reservation-led, and inquiries may require time for the hospitality team to respond. Guests should disclose group size, dietary restrictions and mobility needs before confirmation. The brief tour belongs to the Signature program and should not automatically be attached to the Short Pour. Current age, pet and cancellation policies should be verified on the active booking page.

Vineyard 29 offers an unusual price range for a luxury estate. The Short Pour can introduce the portfolio without a large time or budget commitment, the Signature experience suits visitors who want caves and a savory accompaniment, and the Estate Pairing is appropriate for culinary travelers and collectors. Its northern St. Helena position fits well with other up-valley appointments.

Use the estate address, reserve well ahead for the food pairing and avoid publishing the old downtown space as open without evidence. Confirm whether the $29 Short Pour is available on the intended date, because limited-entry offerings can change. The page should describe each tier precisely and avoid implying that every guest receives the seasonal courses or full cave component.

A tech entrepreneur's pivot,Chuck McMinn, who co-founded broadband pioneer Covad Communications, discovered Vineyard 29 at a Napa Valley wine auction and bought the brand in 2000.
Planted with cuttings from a famous neighbor, the original three-acre vineyard was planted in 1989 using budwood from neighboring Grace Family Vineyards, one of Napa's earliest cult Cabernets.
A high-tech winery for its era,the gravity-flow facility McMinn built included an integrated data network controlling lighting, irrigation, and fermentation, along with a cogeneration plant that took it off the local power grid.
"Wino Notion likes Vineyard 29's striking range from a $29 introduction to a $195 seasonal pairing. The Signature tier is especially well-balanced for visitors who want estate wines, caves and food without committing to the highest-priced program."
