Vintyr Wine

Vintyr is the Rasmussen family's big red project in Pinot country: old world styled blends and single varietals given traditional European barrel aging, poured on the Amity-Dayton Highway in the Eola-Amity Hills. Born in Newberg, where its three founders grew up, the label shares a family with Purple Cow Vineyards and, since 2017, the historic Kristin Hill estate in Amity.

Tastings mix Vintyr's reds with Purple Cow's unusual varietals, often poured by one of the winemakers themselves; the two labels are a husband and wife friendly rivalry. Oregon tasting rooms tend to be small and personal, and many close early in the week. Confirm current hours, tasting fees and reservation policies with the winery before you go.
