About Abiouness Wines
Abiouness Wines is a small, family-run Napa Valley label founded by winemaker Nicole Abiouness, whose surname is a tribute to her Lebanese father. After training at the Culinary Institute of America and cellar work at Swanson, Chappellet and Luna Vineyards, plus harvests in Australia, Sauternes and Burgundy, she made her first Abiouness wine, a Sangiovese, in 2000.
Abiouness does not own its own vineyards or winery; Nicole instead partners with growers at specific organic and sustainable sites, including Stanly Ranch in Carneros, Eaglepoint Ranch in Mendocino and Van Der Kamp on Sonoma Mountain, farming for quality and making the wine with minimal intervention. Pinot Noir and Sangiovese are the label's signature bottlings.
This is a boutique, mailing-list-focused producer rather than a winery with a fixed daily tasting room. To buy the wines or arrange a tasting, it is best to join the mailing list or contact Abiouness directly, as availability is limited and offerings change by vintage.
