About Absolution Cellars
Absolution Cellars takes its name from the religious act of absolution — the granting of forgiveness, the cleansing of the soul from the weight of accumulated transgressions. In wine culture, absolution has a different resonance: the glass that releases the day's tensions, the bottle shared with someone you need to reconcile with, the wine that marks the moment when something difficult is forgiven and life moves forward.
The El Pomar District estate produces Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel from calcareous east-side Paso Robles soils at accessible walk-in pricing. The religious naming is embraced with the lighthearted seriousness appropriate to wine — Absolution is both the theological concept and the invitation to put down what you're carrying and enjoy a glass.
The daily walk-in tasting room is dog-friendly, picnic-welcoming, and family-hospitable.
