About Anthem Winery and Vineyards
Julie and Justin Arbuckle founded Anthem in 2009 on the lower slopes of Mt. Veeder, where their estate vineyard sits at roughly 400 feet across two wooded parcels off Redwood Road. The plantings run to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, supplemented by fruit from Beckstoffer's Las Piedras vineyard near St. Helena and the Riverbound vineyard for Sauvignon Blanc.
Winemaker Jeff Ames, chosen after Julie Arbuckle conducted more than a hundred interviews, has made every vintage since the 2009 debut, and total production remains around 1,100 cases a year. Anthem operates as a private winery without a public tasting room; the wines sell direct through its website and mailing list, with bottles turning up at select Napa restaurants and retailers.
