About Brandlin Estate
The Brandlin family emigrated from Switzerland in the 1870s and homesteaded high on Mount Veeder, running a grain store and stagecoach service alongside their vines. Henry Brandlin planted the estate's first vines in 1926, and some of that planting is still producing today. The property spans 120 acres of woodland and 49 acres of vineyard above 1,250 feet, perched above the Napa fog line.
Since 1998 the estate has belonged to the Schmidheiny family, Swiss winegrowers who also own Cuvaison; the two properties now operate together as Two Estates, sharing a membership program and a Carneros tasting salon. Director of Winemaking Steve Rogstad has worked this fruit for two decades, coaxing Mount Veeder's famously robust tannins into structured, Cabernet-led wines like the Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Henry's Keep.
