About Bravante Vineyards
George and Nancy Bravante, whose agricultural roots run through Bravante Produce in the San Joaquin Valley, founded Bravante Vineyards in 1996 on Howell Mountain. The estate comprises two vineyards, Stone Ridge, roughly 20 acres with 10 planted around the winery at about 1,700 feet, and Black Oak, a mile north and slightly higher, growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a rare Musqué-clone Sauvignon Blanc.
A winery completed just before the 2009 harvest holds a battery of tiny tanks matched to individual vineyard blocks, plus two caves used for barrel aging and hospitality. Production is estate-grown fruit only, around 2,000 cases a year spanning Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, the Trio red blend, Sauvignon Blanc and rosé, and the family still runs the place nearly three decades in.
Everything Bravante bottles comes off its own Howell Mountain vines at roughly 1,700 feet.
