About Ceja Vineyards

Ceja Vineyards traces back to Pedro and Amelia Ceja, who met in 1967 as 12-year-olds picking grapes at Napa's To Kalon vineyard just days after Amelia arrived from Mexico. Along with Pedro's brother Armando and his wife Martha, the two couples bought their first 15 acres in Carneros in the early 1980s, planted vines in 1986, and brought in their first harvest in 1988, building the label from vineyard labor into ownership over a single generation.

The Ceja family label launched commercially in 2001 and today the family farms more than 110 acres across the Napa and Sonoma sides of Carneros, producing roughly 7,000 cases a year at a custom-crush facility while selling most of their grapes to other wineries. Amelia Ceja became the first Mexican-American woman to serve as a winery president and was named a Woman of the Year by the California legislature in 2005.

Pedro and Amelia Ceja met as 12-year-old grape pickers at To Kalon vineyard in 1967 and, a generation later, became owners of more than 110 acres of Carneros vineyard.
