About Chimney Rock Winery

Chimney Rock Winery sits along the Silverado Trail in the Stags Leap District, where the estate's Cape Dutch-inspired architecture and vineyard setting create a recognizable Napa destination. Cabernet Sauvignon is the center of the story, but the visit is structured through several distinct reservations rather than one universal tasting. That distinction matters because the entry flight, single-vineyard comparison and vineyard-focused program have different prices, durations and guest requirements.

The Taste of Terroir is a seated introduction to current wines and can accommodate a broader range of visitors when the reservation includes every member of the party. The Elevage tasting is a shorter adult-only format. The Single Vineyard experience moves deeper into estate Cabernet, while Vineyard Odyssey adds more time and vineyard context. Current published pricing ranges from approximately $60 to $195, and the higher-level programs require advance notice.

The winery is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Reservations are recommended, although walk-ins may be accommodated for selected experiences when staffing and seating permit. Children must be included in the reservation, and guests should not assume that every tasting accepts minors. Dogs are welcomed under the current visitor policy, but the booking page should control the final pet and seating rules.

Chimney Rock works well for travelers who want to understand the Stags Leap District through Cabernet Sauvignon without committing every guest to the most expensive tour. The Silverado Trail location is convenient for nearby appointments, yet the longer programs require enough time to avoid rushing. Visitors should choose the reservation based on desired depth, age composition and walking expectations rather than treating every option as interchangeable.

A golf course turned vineyard, the Wilsons dug up the fairways of what was once the Chimney Rock golf course to plant the Cabernet Sauvignon vines that define the estate today.
Cape Dutch architecture in Napa Valley, the Wilsons' South African roots inspired the winery's distinctive Cape Dutch-style building, an unusual architectural choice for the Stags Leap District.
Two decades with one winemaker,Elizabeth Vianna has led winemaking at Chimney Rock since 2002, guiding the estate through its transition to full Terlato family ownership in 2004.
"Wino Notion likes the clear progression from an accessible estate tasting to serious single-vineyard and vineyard programs. The property lets visitors choose how deeply they want to explore Stags Leap District Cabernet without turning every reservation into the same premium package."
