About Clos Du Val
Clos Du Val is Stags Leap District first-growth history: founded in 1972 by John Goelet and Bordeaux-born winemaker Bernard Portet, its 1972 Cabernet stood in the 1976 Judgment of Paris and won the famous 1986 rematch outright, cementing the estate's French-accented, age-worthy style.
Today the Hirondelle House tasting experiences overlook the estate vineyard that started it all, Cabernet still the calling card. The valley's quiet Judgment winner.
