About Conn Valley Vineyards
Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards was founded in 1983 by Gus and Phyllis Anderson together with son Todd Anderson, a family with Michigan farming roots. Their 40-acre estate sits at the base of Howell Mountain in Conn Valley near St. Helena, on a site with grape plantings dating back to roughly 1900.
The family released its first commercial vintage in 1987 (487 cases), and their second-ever vintage, a 1988 Cabernet Sauvignon, appeared on the cover of Wine Spectator. The winery obtained budwood from Napa legends including Justin Meyer's Bonny's Vineyard, Eisele Vineyard, and Jordan Vineyard, and sold grapes to Joe Heitz starting in the mid-1980s.
Their second-ever vintage, a 1988 Cabernet Sauvignon, landed on the cover of Wine Spectator.
