About Crane Family Vineyards
Crane Family Vineyards is named for the Crane family — Jeff and Valerie Crane's St. Helena estate carrying their surname as the most direct possible declaration of personal investment and accountability. The Crane family road (Crane Avenue) runs through the property, making the family name literally embedded in the landscape.
The St. Helena estate produces Cabernet Sauvignon from estate vineyards with a winemaking approach that emphasizes site expression and restraint — allowing the benchland St. Helena terroir to declare itself rather than imposing a house style. The family-surname identity extends to the farming: directly owned, directly managed, the Crane family's specific decisions about viticulture visible in every vintage.
The appointment-only format keeps the scale personal and the relationship between the Crane family and their visitors genuinely individual.
