About Cuvaison Estate Wines
Cuvaison released its first Napa Valley Chardonnay in 1969, making it one of the pioneering wineries of what became the Los Carneros AVA. The Schmidheiny family of Switzerland purchased the winery in 1979, adding roughly 400 acres of Carneros land that includes the estate's Tai Vineyard, and remains the family owner today into a fourth generation.
Steve Rogstad has served as Vice President of Winemaking since 2002, overseeing a 'smart shed' winery built for small-lot, block-by-block production. Cuvaison farms its estate vineyards across the cool, fog-influenced Los Carneros AVA and focuses on Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc across Estate, Small Lot, Micro Lot, and Legacy tiers.
