About DAOU Family Estates
DAOU is one of Paso Robles' most popular destinations, set atop a dramatic Adelaida District peak the family calls DAOU Mountain, at around 2,200 feet. Brothers Georges and Daniel Daou, engineers who came to California by way of Lebanon and France, built the estate around Bordeaux varieties, above all Cabernet Sauvignon, with the ambition of proving this hilltop as world-class Cabernet country. Their range runs from approachable bottlings to the flagship Soul of a Lion.
The reason so many visitors make the climb is the setting: a Mediterranean-style hilltop tasting room and terrace with sweeping, panoramic views over the vineyards and Paso Robles below. It is a polished, hospitality-driven experience, and one of the most sought-after reservations in the region, so book ahead, especially on weekends.
