About Deovlet Wines
Deovlet Wines is Brian Deovlet's personal Chardonnay and Pinot Noir project — his winemaker surname placed directly on wines from Edna Valley and Santa Maria Valley vineyard sources he has worked with intimately. Brian Deovlet, who built his reputation at Sinor-LaVallee in the Avila Beach area, brings that experience with cool-maritime Central Coast terroir to his own label with the directness of a winemaker who has put his name on the bottle.
The Deovlet approach is Burgundian in philosophy and California in materials: site-specific Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from carefully selected cool-maritime vineyard sources, minimal intervention winemaking, and a preference for wines that express place rather than winemaker signature.
Edna Valley's marine influence — the Pacific's daily fog and afternoon breezes through the Chumash Gap — creates Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of unusual freshness and structural tension, qualities that Deovlet's winemaking style preserves rather than obscures.
