About Equality Vines

Equality Vines is a cause-driven wine label and tasting room in Guerneville, on Main Street in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County. Co-founded in 2017 by Matt Grove and civil-rights activist Jim Obergefell, plaintiff in the landmark marriage-equality Supreme Court case, it bills itself as the world's first cause wine portfolio dedicated to equality for all.

Rather than farming a single estate, Equality Vines collaborates with talented Sonoma and California winemakers to craft small-batch, limited-release wines whose sales fund equality organizations. Bottlings include the Love Wins Russian River Valley sparkling, Rose the Riveter, Activist Pinot Noir, Stonewall and The Migrant, supporting causes spanning LGBTQ+ rights, women's rights and immigration.

The bright, art-filled Guerneville tasting room welcomes visitors for tastings, with an adjacent art gallery. Because hours change seasonally, it is best to confirm current tasting details with the winery before visiting.
