About Faust Wines
Ownership correction: Faust is not part of Trinchero Family Estates. It was founded by Agustin and Valeria Huneeus and is owned by Huneeus Vintners, the family-owned company that also owns Quintessa, Flowers Vineyards & Winery, and Benton-Lane, Faust is a sister label to Quintessa, not a Trinchero brand. Its primary vineyard is a 121-acre Coombsville estate purchased in 1998, roughly 100 acres of which is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, supplemented by Huneeus-owned Rutherford fruit and select Atlas Peak, Mount Veeder, and Howell Mountain sources.
The tasting venue, Faust Haus, occupies a restored 1878 Victorian mansion in St. Helena originally built by Fritz Rosenbaum and later home to St. Clement Winery; Huneeus Vintners bought the property from Treasury Wine Estates in 2016. Winemaker David Jelinek oversees production, which runs 40,000-45,000 cases annually with Cabernet Sauvignon as the majority.
Faust is a Huneeus Vintners label, sister to Quintessa, not Trinchero Family Estates, and its 2021 Cabernet ranked No. 4 on Wine Spectator's 2024 Top 100.
