About Firestone Vineyard
Firestone Vineyard holds a singular place in Santa Barbara County wine history as the first estate winery established in the region, founded in 1972 by Leonard Firestone, son of legendary tire industrialist Harvey Firestone, and his son Brooks. At a time when Santa Barbara was known for cattle ranches rather than vineyards, the Firestone family saw the potential of the Santa Ynez Valley's unique east-west orientation and planted vines on the rolling hills along Zaca Station Road outside Los Olivos. That pioneering act helped open the door for what has become one of California's most celebrated wine regions. Firestone Vineyard is known for one of the most beautiful views in the Santa Ynez Valley, its terrace looking out over estate vines and rolling hills.
Today Firestone Vineyard farms sustainably across estate vineyards and produces award-winning Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The tasting room and winery complex welcome visitors with walk-in tastings, live music on weekends, guided winery tours, and interactive wine labs where guests can blend their own wines. The property's sweeping vineyard views, laid-back Santa Ynez atmosphere, and deep historical significance make it a cornerstone stop on any Santa Barbara wine country itinerary.
