About Gali Vineyards
Gali Vineyards is a family project with real Los Gatos roots: Joseph Gali, a local pediatrician and self-taught farmer whose love of growing began in his uncle's Mediterranean orchard, and his wife Janice raised their daughters in town before opening the downtown tasting room in August 2021. The farming happens on 18 acres the family owns in Corralitos, at the cool southern end of the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA near the top of Monterey Bay - every vine tended by hand with sustainable practices.
The lineup rewards curiosity: alongside maritime-fresh Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah, the Galis planted Spanish varietals rare for the mountains - Tempranillo in 2013 and Albarino in 2020 - and have grown blueberries on the property since 2004. Winemaker Eric Baugher turns the hand-farmed fruit into the award-winning estate wines.
The tasting room at 21 West Main Street feels like the community hub it was built to be: rotating exhibits of original local artwork on the walls, regular live musicians, craft and food-pairing activities, and a space that rents for private events up to 60. Doors open Wednesday through Sunday with evening-friendly Friday and Saturday hours - stop in, sample the estate wines, and odds are good you'll meet a Gali.
