About Hunter Hill Vineyard
Hunter Hill Vineyard is named for the hill — the elevated terrain where the hunter operates, the raptor's hunting ground, the position of natural advantage that elevated terrain provides to those who pursue. The Hecker Pass estate sits on an elevated ridge position in the Santa Cruz Mountains' southern sector, the hillside terrain providing both the drainage and the elevation that distinguish mountain viticulture from valley floor farming.
The Santa Cruz Mountains estate produces Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, and Cabernet Sauvignon from estate and purchased vineyard sources. The Hecker Pass Road location in the Gilroy foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains connects the southern mountain viticulture tradition with the Central Coast's warm-climate character that the Sierra de Salinas moderates from the south.
