About Husch Vineyards
Husch Vineyards holds the most historically significant distinction in the Anderson Valley wine industry: it was the first winery to produce wine in the valley, crushing its first grapes in 1971 when the Anderson Valley had no critical wine reputation whatsoever. Tony and Gretchen Husch planted the original vineyards and converted a late-1800s pony barn into the most charming and intimate tasting room on Highway 128 — a converted barn so small and personal that Wine Country Getaways calls it 'the coziest and smallest tasting room in the area.'
Third-generation family members now lead the winery, maintaining the same philosophy that has guided every Husch vintage for over 50 years: grow the grapes sustainably on family-managed vineyards, make wines that honestly express the Anderson Valley's cool maritime character, and welcome every visitor with the genuine warmth of a family that has been sharing their harvest with guests since before the valley had any wine tourism infrastructure whatsoever.
The 22-wine lineup — six of which are nationally distributed, with the remainder available only at the tasting room — includes estate Gewürztraminer, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and other Anderson Valley expressions. The complimentary tasting, dogs and families welcome, picnic grounds, and the pony barn atmosphere make Husch the most historically genuine and personally accessible winery on the Anderson Valley wine trail.
