About Kanzler Vineyards
Kanzler Vineyards is a family-owned estate in the foggy Sebastopol Hills of West Sonoma County, and its rise happened almost by accident. Stephen and Lynda Kanzler bought 20 acres of abandoned apple orchard and blackberry brambles in 1992, simply wanting a home and community; after a brief go at raspberries, a neighbor steered them toward wine grapes, and they planted their first Pinot Noir in 1996. When local vintners began earning high scores from Kanzler fruit, the family started making their own.
Today Kanzler handcrafts small batches of estate-grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the peaks, slopes and valleys of their Sebastopol Hills vineyard, cool-climate wines that have earned critical acclaim and high scores. The style is elegant, aromatic and precise.
In 2024 the family opened a modern estate tasting room on the property, and visits are private, by appointment, and intentionally intimate, a seated flight of Kanzler wines overlooking the vineyards, often hosted by a member of the family. For the fully immersed, a vineyard residence lets you stay right among the vines.
