About Karah Estate Vineyards
Karah Estate Vineyards and Winery sits on the peak of a hill just off Highway 101, a 144 acre estate of rolling Petaluma Gap grassland about thirty minutes north of the Golden Gate. The Gap's cool air and famously forceful wind shape everything here: estate Pinot Noir leads, with small lots of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc rounding out the list, all fermented in small lots with minimal intervention.
This is one of southern Sonoma's easiest visits: open Friday through Sunday from 11am to 5pm, walk-ins welcome with no reservation, panoramic valley views from the lawn and patio, and picnics encouraged, with local partners like Andante Dairy cheeses available on site. The estate picked up bronze medals at the 2026 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition for both its 2024 Rose of Pinot Noir and 2024 Estate Pinot Noir. Dogs, kids and large groups are all welcome.
