About Keever Vineyards & Winery
Bill and Olga Keever returned to Napa Valley in 1999 and bought a former horse ranch in the hills southwest of Yountville, planting the property with help from noted vineyard manager Jim Barbour. Early vintages were made at nearby Laird Family Estate before the Keevers completed their own winery building, opening their tasting room in 2006.
Of the 21-acre property, only about 6.5 acres are planted, mostly to Cabernet Sauvignon across four clones with a small block of Malbec, terraced up to roughly 300 feet above the valley floor. Winemaker Celia Welch, named Food & Wine's Winemaker of the Year in 2008 and a Winemakers Hall of Fame inductee, has led production, and the Keever family, including adult children, still works the tasting room and vineyard day to day.
