About Lost Canyon Winery

Lost Canyon Winery has true garagiste roots: it began in a garage in Oakland's Montclair Hills in the late 1970s and was bonded in 2001, built around small lots of vineyard-designated Pinot Noir, Syrah and Chardonnay from cool-climate Sonoma sites. The founders held long-term contracts with a handful of Russian River, Carneros and Sonoma Coast vineyards, giving the wines a consistency that earned a devoted following.

In 2008 the brand was purchased by Fritz Winery of Cloverdale, whose owner Clayton Fritz and winemaker fell for the wines and committed to preserving their style, sourcing the same vineyards and using the same cooperages. Today Lost Canyon pours from a relaxed tasting room and wine bar in downtown Santa Rosa's historic Railroad Square district.

It's an intimate, unpretentious alternative to the bigger, busier rooms, with knowledgeable, friendly hosts, food platters and the option to sit inside or out. Open on weekends, it's an easy, personal stop for lovers of cool-climate Pinot and Syrah.
