About Maysara Winery
Maysara Winery is a biodynamic estate in the McMinnville AVA producing Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Riesling from 532 acres of certified organic and biodynamic vineyards on the steep slopes of the Coastal Range foothills. The name means "house of wine" in Persian, honoring the Momtazi family's Iranian heritage. Moe and Flora Momtazi purchased the former wheat farm in 1997 and transformed it into one of the largest biodynamic vineyards in North America, farming without synthetic chemicals and nurturing the land with cover crops, livestock, and careful attention to natural cycles.
The tasting room on Muddy Valley Road is surrounded by vineyards and rolling farmland, offering a peaceful setting that reflects the family's deep connection to the earth. Maysara's wines are known for their purity, intensity, and sense of place, qualities that flow directly from the biodynamic farming philosophy. The estate has earned widespread recognition as one of Oregon's most committed and successful practitioners of regenerative viticulture.
