About Mumm Napa
Mumm Napa at 8445 Silverado Trail in Rutherford is the California home of the historic Champagne house G.H. Mumm, producing méthode champenoise sparkling wines that have become some of the most recognized and widely distributed California bubbles in the world. Founded in partnership with the Seagram spirits group in the early 1980s, Mumm Napa brought traditional Champagne-making expertise — riddling, disgorgement, extended lees aging — to the Napa Valley and helped establish the valley's credibility as a serious sparkling wine region.
The flagship Brut Prestige is a non-vintage blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier — the classic Champagne triumvirate — crafted to deliver consistent house style across vintages. The DVX (named for Domaine Carneros co-founder Claude Taittinger's initials) is the prestige cuvée, a vintage-dated expression from the finest lots of the year, aged extended time on the lees and capable of genuine complexity and development in the bottle.
The Silverado Trail visitor center offers one of the Napa Valley's more theatrical tasting experiences, with a gallery of rotating art exhibitions and an outdoor terrace with vineyard views that makes it a natural destination for groups and celebratory visits. The sparkling wine focus also distinguishes Mumm Napa from the Cabernet-dominated tasting rooms that line Highway 29 on the other side of the valley.
