About Nichelini Family Winery
Founded in 1890 by Swiss immigrant Anton Nichelini, who homesteaded 160 acres in remote Chiles Valley in the 1880s, Nichelini Family Winery is recognized as the oldest winery in Napa Valley to have remained in the hands of the same family since its founding. The property includes an 1886 homestead cabin believed to be the only one of its kind left in Napa County, and the winery is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The estate is now led by seventh-generation family winemaker Aimée Sunseri, who was named Woman Winemaker of the Year at the 2017 International Women's Wine Competition. Production runs about 2,500 cases a year from Chiles Valley fruit, centered on Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Primitivo and Cabernet Sauvignon, with small lots of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle.
