Nicora Wine is named through a portmanteau of Nicole (the founder's first name) and the Latin ora (mouth, supplication, the word for prayer or petition), Nicora, combining the founder's identity with the act of asking, of opening the mouth to say something true. Nicole Walsh's personal Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon project is built around the directness that the name implies: her name in the wine, her palate shaping every decision, her standards defining what gets bottled.

The St. Helena boutique produces Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from carefully selected valley sources with the precision that a founder staking her own name demands. Walsh's approach prioritizes elegance and site clarity over extracted power, wines that say something true about where they come from, in keeping with the founder-name-ora etymology.
