About Niebaum-Pennino
Niebaum-Pennino honors two names woven into Rutherford's history: Gustave Niebaum, who dug a small cave here in 1882 to study wine aging, and Francesco Pennino, Francis Ford Coppola's maternal grandfather and a celebrated musician and composer. Part of The Family Coppola legacy, the wines come from organically farmed vineyards with roots dating back to 1879.
The tasting room, called The Pennino House, opened in 2025 right next to Inglenook, styled like a favorite relative's living room with a communal dining nook and outdoor space for a game of cards. Guests choose between the 1882 Flight of Sauvignon Blanc, Rose and Cabernet Sauvignon, or the Rutherford Flight pairing Sauvignon Blanc with an Edizione Pennino Zinfandel and CASK Cabernet Sauvignon, open Friday through Sunday.
