About Orsi Family Vineyards
Orsi Family Vineyards is a small-production, family-owned winery in the Dry Creek Valley, just a couple of minutes from downtown Healdsburg, that wears its Italian heritage proudly. The story began in 1990 when Bernie Orsi bought a former cattle ranch on Mill Creek Road, land people said couldn't grow grapes, and, after a family trip to Italy, began planting rare Italian varietals.
Today, with more than thirty years of grape-growing experience across several ranches in Sonoma and Mendocino, the family cultivates eleven distinct Italian grape varieties, from Sangiovese, Barbera and Negroamaro to unusual gems like Biancolella and Montepulciano, alongside familiar Sonoma classics like Cabernet and Chardonnay. Farming is sustainable, and the next generation is now carrying the vision forward.
The tasting room feels like a slice of Italy, surrounded by cypress trees, olive groves and vineyard, and hosts both indoor and outdoor tastings, a Solo Vino experience and Italian-style picnics. Open Thursday through Monday, with reservations recommended and limited walk-ins.
