About Quilt & Co

Quilt is the creation of Joe Wagner, a fifth-generation Napa Valley winemaker who began his career at 19 working alongside his father, Chuck Wagner, at Caymus Vineyards. Joe went on to found the single-vineyard Pinot Noir label Belle Glos before launching Copper Cane Wines & Provisions in 2014, the company behind Quilt.

Quilt's wines draw from nine distinct Napa Valley districts, including Calistoga, Oakville, Howell Mountain, and Coombsville, blending them into a single Cabernet Sauvignon meant to reflect the valley's full range rather than one specific site. The brand pours from a rooftop tasting room in downtown Napa overlooking Main Street and the Napa River. The home itself is a piece of downtown Napa history: the Thomas Building at 813 Main Street, a Renaissance Revival stone storefront designed by local architect William Corlett and built in 1908, originally housing the Thomas Restaurant. Joe Wagner renovated it in 2019 to reflect the character of the original storefront - the historic plaque by the door tells the story.
