About Rio Crest Winery
Rio Crest is a tiny, family-owned cult winery in the lower Russian River Valley, born when its founders traded busy Silicon Valley careers for a vineyard estate in the redwood-country town of Guerneville. Their vision was simple, to turn grapes into life, friends and memories, and the wines reflect that intimacy: production is extremely small, often fewer than 100 cases and sometimes fewer than 50, and the bottles are available almost exclusively to members of their list, with a few finding their way onto local restaurant menus.
The focus is Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, joined by Syrah and red blends. Just as central to Rio Crest is community: the winery is known for its epic gatherings, where friends share wine, stories and food from local chefs, offered as a gift with only a contribution to a chosen charity asked in return.
Tastings are personal and by appointment, often paired with cheese, a genuinely under-the-radar Sonoma find.
