About Sheldrake Point Winery
Sheldrake Point Winery occupies a 155-acre lakeside estate on the western shore of Cayuga Lake, named for the point of land that juts into the water at one of the lake's most scenic stretches. The property includes 40 acres of vineyards planted on well-drained glacial soils that benefit from the lake's moderating influence on temperature. Sheldrake Point has built a reputation for producing refined, terroir-expressive wines that capture the elegance of the Finger Lakes, with a particular focus on Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Franc, Gamay Noir, and a celebrated dry Rose. Located on the banks of Cayuga Lake, Sheldrake Point invites guests to picnic on the lawn and relax lakeside, a beautiful off-the-beaten-path setting. This winery is a member of the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, the oldest wine trail in the United States.
The tasting room sits just steps from the lakeshore and offers a relaxed, unhurried experience with knowledgeable staff guiding guests through the portfolio. The Simply Red Bistro, located on the property, serves farm-to-table cuisine paired with estate wines and has become a destination dining experience in its own right. Sheldrake Point also hosts live music events, vineyard tours, and private gatherings throughout the season. The winery's combination of stunning lakeside setting, serious winemaking, and excellent food makes it a standout on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail.
