About Viento Wines
Viento Wines is the project of veteran winemaker Rich Cushman, a Columbia Gorge native who has made wine in the region for over four decades. The name means wind in Spanish, a nod to the Gorge's famous gusts, and the lineup emphasizes crisp Rieslings, sparkling wines, and elegant reds from Gorge-grown fruit.
The tasting room sits at the western edge of Hood River with a relaxed, local feel and pours that consistently overdeliver for the price. It is a favorite stop for visitors who want to taste wines made by one of the Gorge's founding winemaking figures.
