About The Vineyard of Pasterick
The Vineyard of Pasterick is a tiny, family-owned estate winery on a steep western hillside of the Dry Creek Valley, near Healdsburg, run by Diane and Gerry Pasterick since 1999. Their seventeen-acre property, once planted by the founders of the historic Dry Creek Store in the early 1900s, includes about ten acres of vines divided into six small blocks of Syrah and a half-acre of Viognier, each distinct in soil, exposure and slope, which ranges from a gentle grade to a dramatic 45 percent.
The two hills themselves tell a geologic story: one of young volcanic soils, the other of ancient bedrock over 100 million years old. The Pastericks farm sustainably and make estate wines, around 1,000 cases, using Northern Rhone methods, believing that great wine begins in the vineyard.
A visit is intimate and personal: by reservation, you taste in their ancient hillside cave and walk the beautiful grounds, olive trees, gardens and a redwood Magic Forest included, with the family sharing the stories behind every vine.
