About Yount Ridge Cellars
Yount Ridge Cellars takes its name from Napa Valley pioneer George Yount, whose vast land grant once covered the Oakville property where the winery's original 25-acre vineyard sits, not far from where Yount built his 1836 log block house. Eric Sklar, a co-founder of Alpha Omega Winery who also served as vice-mayor of St. Helena and later as a California Fish and Game commissioner, founded Yount Ridge alongside winemaker Celia Welch.
Jean Hoefliger, a Swiss-trained winemaker with experience at Château Lynch-Bages and Château Carbonnieux before running the program at Newton Vineyard and Alpha Omega, took over winemaking in 2021. Yount Ridge was sold to Assemblage Retail Group in 2024, joining a portfolio that also includes Conn Creek and Cornerstone.
