About Bulldog Vineyards
Bulldog Vineyards sits on a small property at 2290 Dry Creek Road in the Oak Knoll District, where the original owner planted just under three acres of Cabernet Sauvignon in 2001. George and Maria McCuen bought the place in December 2017, moved into the farmhouse that February after escrow closed, and named the label for Thelonious, Theo, the family bulldog.
The 2.8 estate acres are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon clone 337 on 3309 rootstock, farmed sustainably with deficit irrigation, and a block of Cabernet Franc clone 214 was added in 2025. Winemaker Brian Graham works with vineyard manager Robert Jordan, and production stays tiny, about 100 cases of estate Cabernet, with other bottlings drawn from family vineyards in Napa and Sonoma.
