About Fairwinds Estate Winery
Fairwinds Estate Winery was established in 2015 when Brandon Chaney and Anthony Zabit, college roommates turned business partners, purchased the former Cuvaison Winery site on Silverado Trail North in Calistoga, a property with roots back to 1969, when it was founded by Silicon Valley engineer Thomas Parkhall and laser physicist Tom Cotrell. Fairwinds opened its own tasting room with limited hours in January 2016, taking its name from a Lake Tahoe property the founders once owned.
Winemaker Todd Heth has overseen production through the winery's ownership and operational changes. The 2020 Glass Fire destroyed Fairwinds' original tasting room, and the winery has since pivoted to a wine-club-only model, hosting guests outdoors in its olive garden or inside a wine cave, while also running Fairwinds Brands, a private-label wine program for corporate and institutional clients.
