About Fait-Main Wines
Fait-Main Wines is named for the French declaration of handcraft — fait main, 'handmade,' the two-word description that in luxury goods distinguishes artisanal production from industrial manufacturing. In Parisian fashion, 'fait main' on a garment meant every stitch was placed by a human hand; in winemaking, the same declaration means every decision was made by a person rather than delegated to a machine or an algorithm.
The Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon program sources from Oakville and St. Helena vineyard blocks with the handcraft philosophy the name declares — no shortcuts, no automation of decisions that should be made by a human being paying attention to a specific vineyard on a specific day in a specific vintage.
The appointment-only tasting keeps the handcraft quality of the visitor experience consistent with the winemaking philosophy.
