About Hanson Vineyards
Hanson Vineyards is a small winery like they used to be: a fourth generation family farm near Woodburn, in the family for more than 120 years, where Clark and Jason Hanson grow a dozen plus grape varieties and make every drop from estate fruit. The style is old world and low intervention, dry, acid driven and character first, with Gamay and obscure northern French reds among the calling cards.
Weekend tastings happen at the farm itself, often poured by a Hanson, with Marlene's flower gardens in view; part of the estate grows in an ancient dry creek bed of stone and sand. Oregon tasting rooms tend to be small and personal, and many close early in the week. Confirm current hours, tasting fees and reservation policies with the winery before you go.
