About Heimark Vineyard
Craig and Libby Heimark bought the 100-acre Dutch Henry Canyon property in 1997, initially intending it as a retirement home before deciding to plant vineyards on its rocky, southwest-facing hillside terrain. Development was entrusted to viticulturist Mary Hall Maher (formerly of Etude and Harlan Estate) and winemaker Tony Soter, who identified 14 acres for Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot across 11 blocks.
For its first 15-plus years the vineyard sold fruit exclusively to other producers -- work that built its reputation, with winemaker Philippe Melka calling it 'the Pauillac of Napa Valley.' The Heimark family began producing its own 100% varietal Cabernet Sauvignon under the estate label in 2016, made by winemaker Françoise Peschon in small lots of around 500 cases a year, while continuing to sell blocks of fruit to outside producers such as Arkenstone.
