Markham Vineyards is a Napa Valley winery in St. Helena, founded in 1874. A gold rush detour into wine, founder Jean Laurent came to California chasing gold in 1852 but found greater success bringing his Bordeaux winemaking background to Napa Valley instead. One of Napa's oldest surviving stone cellars, the 1879 stone winery building still stands at the heart of the property, among a small handful of Napa wineries with structures dating that far back.

Named for an Arizona billboard executive, Bruce Markham, who had sold his outdoor advertising business as part of a federal highway beautification program, bought the historic property and renamed it for himself in the late 1970s.
