About Maroon Wines
Maroon Wines was founded in 2008 by Paul Maroon, building on the Crauford Wine Company he had established in 2000 after ending a long-running contract supplying Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to Joseph Phelps for its Insignia blend. The winery's 35-acre estate sits north of the city of Napa in the Coombsville AVA, not Oakville, with views up-valley toward Mt. St. Helena.
Winemaker Chris Corley has crafted every Maroon vintage using a 100%-varietal philosophy with no blending, drawing first from about 20 acres of estate Cabernet Sauvignon and selectively from vineyards in the Monticello and Oak Knoll districts. Paul Maroon passed away in late 2019; his wife, Renée, has continued running the business, which remains closed to public walk-in visitors and sells primarily through its wine club.
