Materra | Cunat Family Vineyards was founded in 2007 when Brian Cunat, with his wife Miki and brother John, purchased a 50-acre property in Napa's Oak Knoll District; the family completed a state-of-the-art winery building on the site at 4326 Big Ranch Road, Napa, in 2014.
The estate is planted to Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier, with a production facility built to a 150,000-gallon capacity. The Cunat family remains hands-on in daily operations, and Miki Cunat's Japanese heritage inspired a dedicated 'Japanese Series' of wines, Shinkan Chardonnay, Yamabuki Albariño, Yoshino Rosé, and Ogama Grenache, along with an annual Japanese Cultural Celebration event at the winery.
