About Palmaz Vineyards
Palmaz Vineyards is a Napa Valley winery in Atlas Peak, founded in 1999. The site was originally Cedar Knoll Vineyard, founded by Henry Hagen in 1881, before falling dormant after Prohibition. Julio and Amalia Palmaz acquired and revived the estate starting in 1997, rebuilding it into a modern gravity-flow winery.
The winery's underground cave complex uses gravity rather than pumps to move wine, with a fermentation dome roughly 72 feet wide and 54 feet tall.
